The Russian boxer knocked out his opponent in four seconds. And I regretted it

After the victory, Mark admitted that he didn’t want it that way.

During his career, Russian boxer Mark Urvanov managed to win several minor championship belts in the prestigious WBO, WBC and WBA organizations, but since the titled athlete had not appeared in the ring for more than a year, his current form was in question.

The answer was found in just four seconds – the Russian knocked out his opponent with his first blow.

A short confrontation

On Friday, a professional boxing tournament is being held in Chelyabinsk, the main event of which will be a qualifying match with the participation of Russians Zhora Amazaryan and Elnur Samedov. This fight will determine the contender for the WBA World title. In other fights, the boxers had to fight for the WBA Gold, WBA International, IBF Intercontinental, WBA Continental belts.

Russian boxer Mark Urvanov, who previously held several championship belts, this time did not fight for the title. The fight against Azerbaijani Seymur Isaev marked the end of a somewhat prolonged pause in the career of the 28-year-old athlete. The last time he appeared in the ring was more than a year ago and was not against testing his current capabilities at least in a few rounds. The plan could not be implemented – the confrontation turned out to be too fleeting.

The boxers managed to greet each other, and for about four seconds Mark was preparing the first blow, which successfully delivered to the opponent’s liver. After that, the opponent dropped to his knee to catch his breath, but still couldn’t find the strength to continue the fight. The referee was in no hurry to give a verdict, but still decided to stop the fight at the 21st second.

“I didn’t mean to”

— He entered the ring, hit him once and that was it. I didn’t think I’d get it right. I didn’t want to. “I wanted to show something longer,” Urvanov said after the fight.

A similar plot can sometimes be seen in fights with inexperienced boxers, but 26-year-old Isaev was not a debutant. The Azerbaijani was fighting for the 13th time as a professional; before that he had won 12 times, 10 times by knockout. The boxer did not pass Mark’s test, and now his record no longer has a zero in the “defeats” column.

For Urvanov, the victory was the 24th in his career with three defeats and two draws, and the knockout was the 11th. Inspired by this success, the Russian did not aim at a new opportunity to get closer to the championship belt in boxing, but declared his desire to try his hand at a bare-knuckle fight.

“The grappling match with Makhachev will not take place, because Islam earns a lot of money in the UFC” – Tsarukyan

UFC lightweight number one Arman Tsarukyan said that he does not yet consider a potential grappling fight with the promotion’s welterweight champion Islam Makhachev to be realistic.

On Tuesday, Tsarukyan and Sharabutdin Magomedov, known by his nickname Shara Bullet, ended in a draw in a grappling bout in Yerevan.

— The grappling match with Makhachev will not take place, because Islam earns a lot of money in the UFC. I don’t think anyone can afford to pay him that amount,” Red Corner MMA quotes Tsarukyan as saying.

TYSON FURY: “Usyk will give up his champion title and there is a reason for that”

Former world heavyweight champion, British Tyson Rage I am sure that WBC champion Oleksandr Usyk will leave his belt vacant due to the lack of interesting opponents:

“Usyk will not fight opponents ranked in the WBC because it is impossible to make good money from these fights. How much money will he make by fighting Agit Kabayel or Lawrence Okolie?”

Frankly, these are insufficient. After making a ton of money fighting Tyson Fury, you don’t want to go back to fights that have no financial benefit.

Usik will therefore give up his WBC title and Agit Kabayel will become the full world champion. He will be able to defend against (German boxer) Okolie or Moses Itauma,” Fury said on the DAZN platform.

Kabayel’s next opponent will be Poland’s undefeated representative Damian Knyba. The fight for the WBC interim title will take place in Germany on January 10.
