Dvalishvili spent five rounds with the UFC’s most ridiculous champion.

The UFC 306 tournament became the chance of a lifetime for Merab Dvalishvili, who became famous for his Russophobic rhetoric and clown behavior.

The Georgian fighter was given an absurd champion, but the challenger fiddled with him for five rounds.

“He doesn’t deserve this”

The Georgian had an extremely unsuccessful start in the UFC. He lost his first two fights. For some fighters who started the same way, it all ended there. But Merab retained his place on the promotion roster. After that, he went on a streak of ten victories, reaching the title fight.

But it wasn’t just his confident performance in the cage that helped Dvalishvili get a fight with champion Sean O’Malley. The same Umar Nurmagomedov has just now become number two in the division. And that was thanks to the courage of Corey Sandhagen, who agreed to fight the dangerous Russian.

Clearly, Merab was helped to move to the top of the rankings by his bright statements. The Georgian made a lot of noise by riding the wave of Russophobia when it became fashionable. At the same time, nothing previously prevented Dvalishvili from performing in Moscow.

The Georgian fighter also used anti-Russian rhetoric before the championship fight. He stated that he would not agree to a fight with Umar if he won the title, since, in his opinion, our fighter did not deserve to be so high in the ranking.

– Of course, he is a good fighter, but he doesn’t deserve it. Figueredo deserves the right to fight for the belt because he beat three strong guys,” Dvalishvili said on the SHAK MMA YouTube channel.

But Merab’s vitriol extended to other fighters. For the sake of the fight with Sean, who was dragged by the ears to the championship, he regularly posted provocative videos on social networks. Many of them were beyond reason. Recently, a Georgian got into a fight with a fan at a grappling tournament, but the UFC chose to turn a blind eye to this.

The champion is ready, bring another

The fight began with Dvalishvili hysterical, who started a skirmish with O’Malley’s team. Referee Herb Dean even had to stop the fight to calm the hot-tempered Georgian. After the resumption, Merab acted first, but Sean met his opponent with accurate blows over and over again and looked better.

Dvalishvili turned the tide of the fight after a successful takedown. The American, famous for his undisguised love of soft drugs, looked slow and helpless in the fight, as if he was on drugs.

The second segment started less intensely. The opponents exchanged blows until Merab scored a takedown. In the fight, he had the initiative, forcing his opponent to break the rules. Sean had to grab Dvalishvili’s glove to stop his onslaught. However, the second round ended with a scandalous trick by the Georgian, but for it he not only received a head kick from Sean, but also a remark from Dean.

At the beginning of the third round, Dvalishvili continued to press, but O’Malley finally found the key to the Georgian fighter’s attacks in this segment. In the end, the American began to interrupt his opponent, breaking his opponent’s nose.

A minute’s rest helped the Georgian recover. He again knocked down his opponent and took the initiative there, delivering heavy blows to the head. This happened in the center of the octagon, so O’Malley had a very hard time.

The opponents started the final round carefully, each looking for an opportunity for a sure attack. Dvalishvili found her first, knocking down O’Malley. The American got up by the middle of the round, but he was unable to save the lost fight despite the finishing assault. All three judges gave the victory to the Georgian (49-46, 48-47, 48-47).

There is a strong feeling that now Dvalishvili will do everything to avoid a fight with Nurmagomedov. And it’s not a matter of citizenship, it’s just that Umar in the recent fight against Sandhagen looked head and shoulders above O’Malley.
