“Berlanga is not the kind of opponent after defeating whom you can proclaim yourself the best in the world” – Kudryashov about Alvarez
Russian boxer Dmitry Kudryashov does not believe that Mexican Saul Canelo Alvarez is the best in the world after defeating American Edgar Berlanga.
Alvarez defended his WBA, WBO, WBC super middleweight championship belts against Berlanga on Sunday night, winning by unanimous decision.
“Words and deeds are different, but in this fight I liked Alvarez. Berlanga is not the kind of opponent you can declare yourself number one in the world after defeating. There is Crawford, who wants a fight with Alvarez, there is Bivol, to whom he lost. Alvarez has something to lose,” Vprognoze.ru quotes Kudryashov as saying.
Alvarez has 62 wins, two losses and two draws. For Berlanga, this defeat was the first in his career with 22 victories. Alvarez lost to Floyd Mayweather in 2013 and Dmitry Bivol in 2022.
