The upcoming fight for the title of absolute light heavyweight champion between Russians Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol will be the crowning achievement of their careers for both, said former world champion Grigory Drozd.
Undefeated Beterbiev and Bivol will fight for the title of absolute world light heavyweight champion in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, October 12.
— I consider from all points of view that this is good. Two of our compatriots. Morally, this is not a good story. But each of them had a lot of fights against their compatriots. And this story is subjective. It is very good that the absolute world champion will be a Russian.
This is a historical fight, where two fighters with Russian citizenship will be present. This has never happened before. It is very important that the guys go towards their dreams. For everyone, this is the main fight in their career, the crown, the peak. It is very important that they endured and were able to approach this fight. It is very important that the world sees this fight. It’s always great. Two fighters with “0” in the defeat column. This is a huge intrigue, always action,” Grigory Drozd told the Championship.
Beterbiev has 20 victories in his career and holds the IBF, WBO and WBC belts. Bivol has 23 wins and holds the IBO and WBA belts.
