The coach of Russian boxer Artur Beterbiev, Mark Ramsey, believes that Dmitry Bivol deserves the right to have a rematch after losing the unification fight.
On Saturday in Riyadh, Beterbiev defeated Bivol by decision and won the title of absolute light heavyweight champion. Bivol suffered the first defeat in his career, and Beterbiev brought the fight to a decision by the judges for the first time. Now he has 21 victories, 20 of which are early.
– To be honest, I’m tired. The fight was very emotional and very close. We expected this from Bivol. We won the last few rounds and in the end we have the victory.
— Someone doesn’t agree with the judges’ decision.
– Certainly. Some people like technical boxing, others like aggressive boxing. It’s a matter of styles.
– Revenge?
– Why not? I think Bivol deserves a rematch. But this is a matter for the promoters,” a Match TV correspondent reports Ramsey’s words.
