“According to my feelings, in the fight with Beterbiev I landed more accurate punches” – Bivol

Russian Dmitry Bivol believes that he landed more accurate punches in his fight with compatriot Artur Beterbiev than his opponent.

On Saturday in Riyadh, Beterbiev defeated Bivol by decision and won the title of absolute light heavyweight champion. Bivol suffered the first defeat in his career, and Beterbiev brought the fight to a decision by the judges for the first time. Now he has 21 victories, 20 of which are early.

— What percentage of Arthur’s blows were blocked?

– According to my feelings, most of them. Heavy blows to the right hand. His blows are very heavy, especially with his right hand.

– You have a hematoma under your eye…

“It came from all the blows I took.” They went right through the hand all the way to the heels. Indeed, the blow is heavy. When you don’t have time to strain your hand, then it even flies in through your hand.

—Have you encountered such striking power?

— I came across it when I was with heavier guys. But the blows are different, some are sharp, while Arthur’s are heavy, “concrete.”

— Did you land more accurate strikes?

“According to my feelings, I landed more accurate strikes.” But this is according to my feelings.

– That is, you don’t want to become judges…

“I don’t like these stories at all—they sued me, they didn’t give me one.” I generally accept what I have. Thank God for everything. These are my tests in life. I have what I have. And, thank God, we move on. There is no time for regret and excuses. There is only time to make new decisions.

-Aren’t you angry with yourself?

— There are, of course, some points that I understand that need to be corrected. But there is no such thing that I am angry or regretful. “I understand that at some points I could have been better,” a Match TV correspondent reports Bivol’s words.
