The UFC champion can no longer escape from the Russian fighter. Magomed is ready to do anything for the belt
Magomed Ankalaev agrees to fight for the title on any date, even in Ramadan.
One of the best Russian fighters in the UFC, Magomed Ankalaev, has long deserved a fight for the light heavyweight championship belt. However, the representative of our country was prevented from getting the coveted fight first by the judges, and then by the promotion itself.
It is not surprising that now Magomed will bend over backwards to fulfill his dream and become the best in the world.
Ankalaev is determined to take what is his
After defeating Aleksandar Rakic at the end of October, Ankalaev solidified his status as the undisputed leader of the division. The Russian is currently ranked number one in the light heavyweight rankings and is on a remarkable 13-match unbeaten streak. UFC head Dana White was forced to agree with the Russian’s claim to the belt.
— Is Magomed the next contender for the title? I would say yes. Magomed looked good, absolutely, he performed great,” the league president said at a press conference after the UFC 308 tournament.
Apparently, White kept his word and is already working on organizing a title fight. Ankalaev said that he agreed to fight literally any day.
– I was offered three dates: December, February and March – and I agreed to all three. If I have to win by knockout, I have no problem with that,” the fighter wrote on social networks.
It is worth noting that the Muslim holy month of Ramadan will begin in March. This is a serious indicator of the sacrifices Magomed is ready to make for the sake of a title fight.
What about the champion?
Light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira’s thoughts are hardly focused on Ankalaev right now. The Brazilian has already refused to fight the Russian this year. A hand injury suffered during his last title defense will prevent Alex from returning to the cage quickly. It’s all the more risky to go into a fight with the strongest fighter in the division who is not in optimal shape.
Another thing is that Pereira is probably not that interested in mixed martial arts anymore. It recently became known that the UFC champion will star in the Hollywood film Onslaught. Moreover, Alex received the main role, where he will play a villain named Butcher. That is, in the near future the Brazilian will demonstrate his fighting skills not in the gym, but on the set.
With all these distractions, it’s hard to say how motivated Pereira will be heading into the Ankalaev fight. Our fighter will definitely give his all for victory. After all, the UFC belt around his waist will be a real reward for Magomed for many years of work and the injustice he has experienced.

INOUE: “I’m tired. I had to prepare very hard for these 4 matches in a year.”
Japanese boxer after fight in Riyadh Naoya Inoue He shared his impressions of his victory over Mexican David Picasso (119–109, 120–108, 117–111):
“Honestly, I’m tired. The point wasn’t that I had four fights a year, it was that I had to prepare very hard for each of those four fights. When you’re in this process, you tolerate it because you only think about the fight, but now that it’s over, I see that I definitely gave it everything I had.”
“I don’t want to disrespect Picasso, but I wanted to show the difference between us a little more clearly and knock him out. I couldn’t meet the expectations and I couldn’t box the way I wanted. Nothing has been decided yet, but I would be happy to organize a fight that will excite the whole of Japan.”
Japanese Junto Nakatani He talked about his victory over Sebastian Hernandez (118-110, 115-113, 115-113):
“This fight was an experience for me. I moved up to this weight class to win a championship, so if I get that chance, I want to take it.”
