Wrestler Sadulaev received a bonus of 10 million rubles for winning the World Championships in Tirana
The President of the Federation of Sports Wrestling of the Republic of Dagestan (FSWRD) Omar Murtuzaliev awarded a cash prize of 10 million rubles to a native of the republic, Abdulrashid Sadulayev, who won gold at the World Championships in non-Olympic weight categories in Tirana, the press service of the organization reports.
On October 31, Sadulayev defeated Georgian representative Mirian Maisuradze in the final bout in the weight category up to 92 kg and became a six-time world champion.
“We were all excitedly waiting for Abdulrashid’s fights with titled rivals – the American Taylor and the Iranian Ghasempur, and our captain did not disappoint, winning these important and fundamental fights. We are supposed to award 3 million rubles for gold at the World Championship, but taking into account the excellent fight that Abdulrashid showed and the significance of his victory, I decided to reward him with 10 million,” the FSBR press service quotes Murtuzaliev as saying.
At the World Championships, which ended in Albania at the end of October, the Russians competed in neutral status and won five medals.
