Kosovo coach Valmir Fetiu has been suspended by the European Taekwondo Union for six months for aggressive behavior towards his athlete at the European Children’s Championship, reports Klan Kosova.

Valmira’s daughter, eight-year-old Valina Fetiu from the Kosovo national team, lost to Serbian Nina Slavic in the final of the European Championship in Tirana. After the defeat, Valmir Fetiu slapped his athlete in the face. Footage of the incident spread on the Internet.

“She is my daughter, and no one loves her more than me.” At that moment, when the girl was disoriented and angry that she lost to the Serbian participant, she lay on the floor, unable to accept defeat. I just wanted to calm her down and let her know that, despite the defeat, she was in second place and that she would have other opportunities,” Valmira Fetiu was quoted as saying by Klan Kosova.

Fethiu was suspended from all events, local and international competitions under the auspices of the European Taekwondo Union.
