The son of the great boxer Konstantin Tszyu, Timofey, had a real chance to return to big boxing after a disappointing defeat from the American Sebastian Fundora.

But the ex-WBO champion faced a brutal beating from Russian boxer Bakhram Murtazaliev.

Tszyu’s career before the disappointing loss in the fight with Fundora was impeccable. Tim had 24 fights and celebrated victory in all of them, becoming the WBO champion. However, at the beginning of the fight with the huge American, the Australian boxer received a cut, from which blood poured into his eyes throughout the remaining rounds. But even in such conditions, Tim lost only by a split decision.

A bright fight and great recognition allowed him to remain among the top junior middleweight boxers and once again claim the belt. To do this, Tszyu needed to meet with the undefeated Russian Bahram Murtazaliev (22-0), who owns the IBF belt.

Before the fight, Timofey was very immodest in his assessment of his future, talking about the greatness of the family name and recalling the achievements of his father and younger brother.

Bahram was more modest. The Russian boxer really wanted Tim to approach the fight in better shape. According to Murtazaliev, this would allow for a bright show and increase the recognition of both athletes.

Before the fight, Timofey was in for a pleasant surprise. For the first time in a long time, his father came to his fight. However, Konstantin had to witness with his own eyes the natural beating of his son.

From the first seconds of the opening round, Tszyu’s fans began to worry. Tim looked more like a punching bag, becoming an easy target for the Russian’s jabs. In the middle of the first three minutes, the challenger picked up the pace a little, getting involved in an exchange of blows, but it was clearly not in his favor.

In the second segment, Bakhram began to literally destroy his opponent with the hardest hits. The contender for greatness was knocked down three times during the round. Only the gong saved him from an early fiasco. During the break, Tim was even examined by a doctor to assess his ability to continue the fight.

What you can’t borrow from Timothy is courage. He did not want to give up the fight for the title voluntarily. But it would be better for Tszyu to stop on time. In the third round, the representative of the famous family once again found himself on the floor. Having risen, he again fell under a hail of heavy blows. The team had no choice but to throw in the towel.
