Kremlin: “I don’t support a rematch between Beterbiev and Bivol, but if they want, we’ll organize a fight in Russia”
The head of the International Boxing Association (IBA), Umar Kremlev, said that he does not support the idea of holding a rematch between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.
The fight for the title of absolute world light heavyweight champion took place on October 12 in Riyadh, Beterbiev won by majority decision. This week, Bivol’s manager Vadim Kornilov said that the boxer’s team has submitted a request for a rematch.
– I don’t support revenge. It’s better to let them continue boxing and win titles. But if they want, we will always support their desire. If they want, we’ll organize a fight here, in Russia,” RB Sport quotes Kremlev as saying.
Beterbiev won 21 victories (20 by knockout) in the professional ring, Bivol had 23 victories and one defeat.
