UFC lightweight champion Russian Islam Makhachev said he was not surprised by the “exposure” of Irishman Conor McGregor, who is involved in a rape case.

A jury at Dublin High Court on Friday found McGregor guilty and the athlete must pay his victim more than $250,000 in compensation. The civil claim was brought by Nikita Ní Laimhín, who was seeking damages for assault, accusing McGregor of rape at the Beacon Hotel in Dublin on December 9, 2018. McGregor later said he would appeal the court’s decision.

“It was only a matter of time before this vile bastard was exposed.” Alcoholic, drug addict, plus rapist. There are many more facts coming to light, trust me! — Makhachev wrote on a social network.

McGregor’s last fight in the UFC took place in July 2021, when he lost early to American Dustin Poirier. The Irish fighter has 22 wins and 6 losses in mixed martial arts; he previously held UFC championship belts in two weight categories.
