Pantoja defeated Asakura by submission in the second round in the main event of UFC 310
Brazilian Alejandre Pantoja defeated Japanese Kai Asakura in the main fight of the UFC 310 tournament in Las Vegas.
The reigning flyweight champion won by submission in the second round.
Last summer, Pantoja defeated Brandon Moreno by split decision to become champion. He then defended the belt twice, defeating Brandon Royval and Steve Erzeg by decision.
Pantoja scored 29 wins with five defeats. Asakura, who debuted in the UFC, has 21 wins and five losses. Prior to this, the Japanese held the championship title in the Rizin promotion.
