“Organizing a rematch between Bivol and Beterbiev is absolutely the right decision. Congratulations on this” – WBC head

President of the International Boxing Council (WBC) Mauricio Suleiman told Match TV that holding a rematch between Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev is the right decision.
The Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al al-Sheikh, announced that the rematch between Bivol and Beterbiev will take place on February 22 in Riyadh. The first fight between two Russian boxers took place on October 12, 2024 and ended with Beterbiev winning by majority decision. As a result of that fight, Beterbiev became the absolute light heavyweight world champion.
– Carrying out a rematch is absolutely the right decision. Their first fight was one of the greatest I’ve seen in a long time. And the whole world wants to see this revenge, so I am happy about this news. Congratulations,” Suleiman told Match TV.
Beterbiev won 21 victories (20 by knockout) in the professional ring, Bivol had 23 victories and one defeat.
