Dmitry Bivol: “The Date of Revenge and I was announced the day after the first battle”

Russian boxer Dmitry Boval said that he was informed about the terms of revenge the very next day after the first battle with the compatriot Arthur Beterbiev.

The Chairman of the Main Directorate of Entertainment of Saudi Arabia, Turkish Al al -Sheikh, announced that the revenge between Bivol and Beterbiev would be held on February 22 in Riyadh. The first battle between the two Russian boxers took place on October 12 and ended with Beterbiev’s victory by the decision of the judges. According to the results of that duel, Beterbiev became the absolute champion of the world in a weight.

– It’s nice that there will be a revenge. In principle, I expected this. The date is satisfied, it was announced the next day after our first battle, when during our meeting the Turks Al al -Shekh explained why such deadlines. So we knew the date. Yes, there is not much time to prepare as we would like. But we are in equal terms, and all this time I was with the idea that on February 22 we need to box, ”the press service of the Russian Boxing Federation quotes Bivola.

– Where will your camp go?

– At the first stage, we will go to Kyrgyzstan, and the second is still in question.

– Is there a need for a change in sparring partners?

– Sparring partners are always changing. Someone happens to come for a week. There will be the same sparring partner.

– You will first hold a revenge or a meeting with the same opponent.

– This is interesting. There are flaws that need to be paid attention to.

– How many times have you revised the first battle?

– Once. When you watch the fight from the side, you see a little different things that you feel in the ring. But the sensation in the ring is more important. I looked at the battle, became convinced of what I felt in the ring. There are really moments that you need to work on. But you can’t get hung on them. Gennady Yuryevich (Mashyanov) studies everything in detail. I, too, at least, I will see one more time.

– Your first confrontation is actively discussed, there are different points of view.

– Yes, I came across different opinions. But I try not to focus on this my emotions. I try to analyze what had to be finalized in certain points. If I start paying attention to comments, then it will be very much sucking in energy. At some point, this can be very much relaxed, because you will begin to look for some excuses. You just need to accept everything as it is, take full responsibility for yourself and then work.

– Has your attitude to Arthur changed?

– No. In general, it has not changed in any way. Arthur is a respected boxer, to whom I still belong. I will tune in to him in the same way as the first duel.

Beterbiev won 21 victory (20 by knockout) in a professional ring, Bivol has 23 victories and one defeat. Bovil and Beterbiev as honored guests on Friday in Dubai visited the IBA Champions Night tournament.

Nakatani triumphs in spectacular fight against Hernandez in Riyadh

On Saturday, December 27, Ring V boxing night is held in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), and its main event will be the fight for the title of absolute world champion Naoya Inoue – Alan David Picasso.

In the second most important fight, representatives of the second bantamweight (up to 55.3 kg) met – the former world champion Japanese met in the ring Junto Nakatani (31-0, 24 KOs) and undefeated Mexican Sebastian Hernandez (20-0, 18 knockouts).

Japan’s favorite gave the middle of the ring to his opponent and bet that he would be number two. Nakatani was excellent on his feet, attacking with lightning speed from favorable positions and quickly converting to long range.

The Mexican opponent decisively resisted his opponent’s blows, worked well in defense, but was inferior in speed and maneuverability.

Using his entire arsenal – punches, sides, hooks – Nakatani calmly dismantled Hernandez from distance. But after a safe start the favorite slowed down and allowed his rival to equalize the fight.

The opponent aggressively pressured Nakatani, throwing heavy punches and immediately hiding defensively to avoid missing anything heavy. Gradually, the initiative completely passed into the hands of Hernandez, who actively gained points from the judges’ notes.

In the championship rounds, both boxers continued to test each other’s mettle by throwing numerous punches. An incredibly spectacular and interesting fight, where the situation in the ring changes almost every second.

After the results of 12 rounds, the jury recorded the victory by unanimous decision of the Japanese, who can now fight with his compatriot Naoya Inoue.
