The Irish boxer died at the age of 28, a week after the lost battle
Irish boxer John Cooney died at the age of 28 after injuries.
On February 1, the athlete lost a duel with Welsh Nathan Howells in Belfast. The battle was stopped in the ninth round. Cooney was hospitalized and underwent surgery in connection with intracranial hemorrhage. The boxer was in the intensive care unit.
