IBA will file a complaint with the Switzerland prosecutor against the IOC decision to allow Helif and Lin Yuitin to the Olympics in Paris

The International Boxing Association (IBA) intends to file a complaint with the Switzerland Prosecutor for the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to allow Lin Yuritin from Taiwan and Iman Helif from Algeria to participate in the women’s boxing tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, according to the IBA website.

In 2023, IBA was removed by Lin Yuitin and Helif during the World Cup in India because of the inconsistency of the criteria for admission. As a result of the gender test, it was proved that the athletes have XY chromosomes. In the same year, the IOC session excluded IBA from the Olympic movement, and then the IOC allowed Lin Yuitin and Helif to the Olympics. As a result, both athletes won gold medals.

In February, US President Donald Trump signed a decree on the ban on participating in women’s sports competitions in the United States. In addition, Trump will seek a prohibition of transgender performance at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los -Angeles (USA).

– IBA is proud that it is the only international federation that protects the rights of athletes around the world and defends the integrity of women’s sports. Trump’s decree proves that IBA rightfully protects the female boxers from dishonest competition.

IBA will file an official complaint to the Switzerland Prosecutor for the actions of the IOC, which contributed to the participation of unauthorized athletes in the Olympic boxing tournament in Paris. According to Swiss legislation, any action or inaction, which poses a threat to the security of the competition participants, requires investigation and may become the basis for criminal prosecution. In addition, similar complaints will be filed by the Prosecutors of France and the USA, ”the Association said.

IBA President Umar Kremlin called on athletes affected by the IOC decision, to file lawsuits against the President of the IOC Thomas Bach and the sports director of Keith MacConnell.

– IBA will provide free comprehensive legal support to boxers in these trials, since this is a clear violation of human rights, outrageous attitude towards women -boxers and just a crime that should be appropriately punished. In my opinion, Bach must take all responsibility for this, as well as compensate for the damage caused if the court or any other instance makes such a decision, ”Kremlin said.
