Former undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson told what could have caused the defeat of the Mexican Saul Alvarez in a duel with the Russian Dmitry Bivol.
On Sunday night, Bivol by unanimous decision of the judges (all – 115:113) defeated the first number of the rating, regardless of the weight categories and the absolute world champion in the super middleweight Alvarez. Only Bivol’s WBA light heavyweight belt was at stake.
“If Canelo had used his jab effectively and hard, this guy wouldn’t have been able to get close to him. He came up because he wasn’t bothered by Canelo’s jab. Therefore, he began to act more aggressively, more boldly. If he doesn’t jab, the guy will go straight for him, which is what he did. Next fight, use your jab, there will be another fight,” Tyson said in a video posted on social media.
Bivol in the professional ring won 20 victories (11 by knockout) in 20 fights. Alvarez has two losses, 57 wins and two draws.
