Russian wrestlers won four out of five finals on the first medal day of the European Championship

At the European Wrestling Championship – 2025, which is held in Bratislava (Slovakia), the first medal sets are played.

On April 8, five finals took place in the male freestyle wrestling. In all five fights, the Russians participated in the tournament under the flag of the United World of Wrestling (UWW) participated for gold. The Russians won four out of five finals.

European champions were the beginning of Mongush (57 kg), Ibrahim Ibrahimov (65 kg), David Baev (70 kg) and Ahmed Usmanov (79 kg).

Magomed Kurbanov (97 kg) lost to Georgian Givi Matcharashvili and became the owner of a silver medal.

Aryan Tyutrin (57 kg) did not reach the final of the category, but won a bronze medal.

On April 9, the remaining medal sets in the male freestyle wrestling will be played at the tournament. Fighters will fight in categories 61, 74, 86, 91 and 125 kg. The tournament will end on April 13th.
