No more humiliating restrictions.
It is difficult to imagine that in the near future in team sports Russia will be presented at international competitions. But in some individual, our compatriots not only fight for the medals, but also do it with the flag and anthem. Now Russian kickboxers will act with national symbols.
Finally a reasonable decision!
Now tournaments can be held in Russia!
Russian kickboxers are gradually returning the right to compete in the international arena and not in neutral status, but with a anthem and a flag in tournaments, which are held under the auspices of various organizations. Everything is as it should be!
For example, in October 2024, the World Cup was held on Greek Rhodes, the organizer of which was WKU (World kickboxing Union).
The competition was attended by almost 50 athletes from our country, who won 31 gold, 14 silver and 15 bronze medals. In terms of the number of awards of the highest sample in an unofficial overall standings, the team took fourth place. At the same time, representatives of WKU did not have special conditions and requirements for our compatriots, who could proudly act with the use of national symbols for the first time since 2019.
And in November, another major tournament was held – the world championship under the auspices of WKF (World kickboxing Federation). And here the Russians performed very dignity and took 17 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze medals from the Spanish city of Alikante. At the competitions where representatives of almost 60 countries performed, in the overall standings, our athletes took fourth place, and again there was a tricolor in awarding.
Given the obvious warming in relations with various organizations, it was worth waiting for the next steps that will allow Russia to fully return to the international arena.
On Thursday, the chairman of the Higher Supervisory Board of the Russian kickboxing Federation Batu Khasikov announced the return of Russian athletes to tournaments under the auspices of the World Kikboxing Federation (WKF) using national symbols. Khasikov met with the President of WKF Friedrich exenberger at the Russian Olympic Committee.
– Today we have reached consent on many fundamental issues, but the main thing is the participation of Russian athletes in international competitions held under the auspices of WKF, using the state symbols of the Russian Federation – flag and anthem.
The plans include the organization of a series of joint tournaments (Grand Prix) Brics One Belt, One Road, in which professional athletes from countries included in the BRICS+intergovernmental organization will take part, Khasikov said, the words of the Russian Kikboxing Federation quoted.
It is important to note that not only athletes officially returned the right to speak at all competitions under the auspices of WKF with a anthem and a flag, but judges from Russia can also work in international tournaments. In addition, now nothing prevents tournaments in our country!
The FCR also noted the statement of exenberger that only the one who defeated the athlete from Russia can become the real world champion.
