The Russian wrestling Federation (FSBR) decided to temporarily suspend the head coach of the Russian team in the freestyle wrestling of Khadzhimurat Gatsalov, the press service of the organization reports.
On Tuesday, the International Doping Testing Agency (ITA) announced that Gatsalov was temporarily suspended on the basis of data from the Moscow Anti -Doping Laboratory (Lims). A specialist is accused of violating anti -doping rules in May 2015.
– The FSBR says that Hadzhimurat Gatsalov intends to defend his honest name. According to the anti -doping rules of the united world of struggle (UWW) and the World Anti -Doping Code, temporary removal entails a ban on participating in any sports in any quality. In this regard, the FSBR decides on the temporary removal of Khadzhimurat Gatsalov from the post of head coach, the FSBR said in a statement.
Gatsalov is 42 years old, he won the gold of the Olympic Games in 2004 in Athens. Gatsalov is also a five -time world champion (2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2013) and a three -time European champion (2003, 2004, 2006).
Gatsalov headed the Russian team in 2022.
