Judoist Timur Arbuzov was the first of the Russians to win a gold medal at the World Cup in Budapest

Russian Timur Arbuzov became the worldwide champion in the weight category up to 81 kg.
The 2025 tournament is held in Budapest. Arbuzov in the final defeated the vice -champion of the Olympic Games Tato Grigalashvili from Georgia, throwing it at Ippon.
At the current world championship, Gold of Arbuzov is the first medal of the highest dignity for Russians. Earlier in the piggy bank of the domestic team there was only Ayuba Bluev bronze in the weight category up to 60 kg.
At the 2024 World Cup, Arbuzov lost to Grigalashvili in the final, and at the European Championship of 2025 he won him in a decisive match.
Russian athletes perform at the tournament in Hungary under the flag of the Judo International Federation.
