The Japanese boxer Ginziro Siegheok underwent surgery on the brain and is now forced to end his career, Kyodo agency reports with reference to the Japanese Boxing Commission (JBC).

Last week, Siegheoka was defeated by the Philippine Pedro Taduran in battle for the world title according to the version of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) in the smallest weight. After the result of the result, the 25 -year -old Japanese began to lose consciousness in the ring. He was carried away on a stretcher and sent to the hospital, where he underwent surgery on the brain. Siegheok is in the intensive care unit in one of the Osaki clinics.

According to the JBC rules, a boxer who underwent surgery on the brain cannot have a professional license. Thus, Siegheoku should leave sports.

Siegheoka in 2023 won the IBF world title. On his account is 11 victories (nine – a knockout) and two defeats.
