The former UFC in lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has recovered for a long time, another ex-champion from Russia Islam Makhachev decided to try his luck in the welter weight category. But without the owner, the vacant belt did not remain long – Elijah Topuria tightly knocked out Charles Oliveira and became the new champion.

“There is no chance”

On Sunday night in Las Vegas, the UFC 317 tournament was held, the main event of which was a fight for the title of lightweight champion. The belt, which not so long ago belonged to the Russian Islam Makhachev, and before that Khabib Nurmagomedov, was left without the owner for a short time. The 33-year-old fighter from Dagestan decided to go into the welterweight, and for the vacant title was to argue with Brazilian Charles Oliveire and the Porcelain Elijah Topuria.

In the confrontation of the two former champions of the organization, Du Bronx did not own a lightweight title for long, and Topuria until recently remained the strongest in the fifty -light weight category, there was a clear favorite. Excellence, and significant, judging by the coefficients of bookmakers, was expected on the side of a fighter of Georgian origin. Also, according to quotes, the probability of early completion of the battle was high.

– A couple of years ago, I would say that Oliveira has a chance. And now I see no chance of Charles. Topuria is now on the go. Oliveira without feelings

The fight really turned out to be not too competitive. From the first seconds of the battle, Topuria began to throw jabs, then the Brazilian tried the struggle, but the idea was unsuccessful. Soon Oliveira was already defending himself lying down on a canvas, his face was in blood. The audience was inspired when Du Bronx tried to pick up his opponent’s leg, but Elijah without much difficulty escaped to freedom, rose to the rack and began to just kick the lying opponent, while the referee was not forced to rise.

In the rack, Oliveyr did not expect anything good. The Spanish fighter continued to interrupt him, one of the blows with the right simply turned off the ex-champion light. The Brazilian collapsed on the canvas, lying without feelings, missed a couple more attacks in the head from Topuria, until the referee pushed him aside. The ending turned out, of course, spectacular, but the very fact that one of the participants in the championship duel was in a deaf knockout in the middle of the first round, makes us ask the question, but was one of the applicants not to be weak?

The duel of Topuria with Arman Tsarukayan should be assumed to be much closer. But the Akhalkalac to the tournament in Las Vegas went only in the status of the insured. And a very big question is whether he will be able to compete for the belt in the near future. The cunning Topuria, in words repeatedly defeating Islam Makhachev, after the battle called Peddy Piblietta, occupying only the eighth line in a lightweight rating!

If the UFC bought for this trick, then the newly -minted champion will have a long time to tell how cool it is and how everyone is afraid of it. But sooner or later, to be in the octagon face to face with Makhachev or at least Tsarukayan, Topuria will still have to. And here the early victory in the first round is hardly worth waiting.
