Zenit footballer Vega: “It was most surprised that my wife also said that we have something similar to Bivol”

The Argentinean Zenit defender Roman Vega said what he thinks about external similarities with the Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol.

On Thursday, a presentation of Vega took place in the Shine -White -Gallery Club store Zenit Arena on Nevsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg. By tradition, the player himself applied his last name and number (66th) to the game form.

Vega moved to Zenit this summer from Argentinos Huniors and made his debut for the “blue -white -blue” in the match of the 1st round of the RPL world with Rostov (2: 1).

– Before the arrival, did they know that the captain of the team Douglas Santos played in your position?

– Of course he knew. When it became clear that I was moving to St. Petersburg, I found and studied all possible information. Competition does not bother at all, I think this is an absolutely healthy process that is beneficial for everyone. How Douglas will make me stronger as a result of competition, so, I hope, I can give him something. And the whole team will remain the winner.

– Which of the players of Zenit knew before that?

– Barrios, Cascierera, Mantoin, Nino, Douglas Santos. So many. Almost everyone was heard. He called those who were the first to come to mind now.

– Now there are a lot of jokes about the fact that you look like Dmitry Bivola. How do you react to this?

– It was funny. The teammates also said this about this. But most of all it surprised me that my wife said that we have something similar. They laughed at home. But in general, an unusual situation, ”the correspondent“ Match TV ”reports the words of Vega.

In the second round of the RPL, Zenit will play on the road against the Kazan Rubin on July 27. See the live broadcast of the game at 20:00 Moscow time on Match TV TV channels and the premiere match, as well as Sportbox.ru and Matchtv.ru sites.
