The Japanese boxer died at the age of 28 after injuries received in the title match
The World Boxing Organization (WBO) expressed condolences in connection with the death of the Japanese boxer Siegoti Kotari.
The Japanese was injured during the title fight with Yamato Huta on August 2. The media reported that after the fight, which lasted all 12 rounds and ended in a draw, he was urgently taken to the hospital, where they carried out an emergency surgery on the brain to remove the subdural hematoma. A week later, Kotary died.
– A warrior in the ring. Fighter in spirit. He left too early. Our thoughts and prayers with his family, the team and the entire Japanese community of boxing, the WBO said in a statement.
During his career, Kotary spent 12 fifty -weight fights, in eight of which he won, lost two and two more fights ended in a draw.
