The Mexican boxer Hulio Cesar Chavezu was sent to prison after arrest and deportation from the United States in July, Reuters said.

Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum at her daily press conference reported that a 39 -year -old man was deported in the country.

Earlier, she stated that the warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of weapons and organized crime trade, and that the prosecutor’s office was working on this case.

Chavez -Jr., the son of the former world champion, Hulio Cesar Chavez, was detained by the US immigration authorities shortly after the defeat in the battle against the American inflienser, who became boxer Paul.

Mexican prosecutors claim that he acted as a member of a cartel, which in the United States was recognized as a foreign terrorist organization.

In 2011, the Chavez -Jr. won the WBC medium -weight champion title, but the next year lost the title.

His career was overshadowed by scandals, including removal after a positive result of a prohibited test in 2009, as well as a fine and removal after a positive result of a marijuana test in 2013.
