Chimaev set the UFC record for the number of exact strokes for the duel

The Chechen fighter Khamzat Chimaev, who plays for the UAE, set the UFC record for the number of accurate strikes for the duel, the press service of the promotion reports.
As part of the UFC 319 tournament in Chicago, Chimaev defeated the South African Drikus du Plessis in a duel for the UFC medium weight belt. The battle lasted all five rounds, and Chimaev defeated the unanimous decision of the judges (50–44, 50–44, 50–44).
In five rounds, Chimaev struck 529 exact strokes, which became the new UFC record.
He also showed the second result in the history of the UFC by the time of control – 21 minutes 40 seconds. The record for this indicator belongs to the American Sherku (22 minutes and 18 seconds) and was set in 2007 in the title match against Brazilian Ermis Franas.

Ring magazine has published an updated ranking of the best boxers in the world, regardless of weight category. WBC, WBA and IBF champion Alexander Usik American Terence Crawford rose to first place after announcing his retirement.
The Ukrainian boxer responded quickly to his return to the top of the rankings. Usik posted a story on his Instagram account.
