The former world boxing champion in two weight categories Briton Ricky Hatton died at the age of 46, BBC Sport reports citing a police representative.
Hatton’s body was discovered on Sunday in his house. It is noted that at the moment no suspicious circumstances have been found in the boxer’s death.
Hatton ended his career in 2012. The British was the world champion in the first welterweight according to the version of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), the World Boxing Association (WBA) and the International Boxing Organization (IBO). Hatton also owned WBA and IBO belts in the welter category.
Hatton was the last rival of Konstantin Tszyu, the fight for the IBF title in the first welterweight was held in June 2005 in Manchester and ended with the victory of the British.
In total, his career Khatton spent 48 fights in which he won 45 victories and suffered three defeats, in particular, he lost to Floyd Mevezer and Manny Paciao.
