The chairman of the coaching council of the Russian Boxing Federation, Eduard Kravtsov, told Match TV that two-time Olympic champion Bakhodir Jalolov is unlikely to agree to a fight with Russian Murad Khalidov.

On Monday in St. Petersburg, in the main bout of the BETCITY IBA.PRO 10 tournament, Khalidov knocked out compatriot Sergei Kuzmin in the seventh round and challenged Jalolov.

– The result is not surprising, because before the fight, according to my estimates, Kuzmin was a 55 to 45 favorite. But the situation was not so obvious. Kuzmin has a great background, native walls. And Murad showed himself well, showed character. And from the very beginning it was clear that we were in for a close fight. And when Sergei threw so many punches, there was an understanding that with a greater degree of probability he would turn sour. Unfortunately for him, that’s what happened.

Khalidov called Jalolov. It would be an interesting fight. On the other hand, I don’t believe in this; Jalolov doesn’t really need this fight. Still, in order for Murad to get to Jalolov, more victories are needed. And I’m not talking about the level, but about positions in the professional box and ratings. At the same time, Khalidov may indeed be dangerous for Jalolov. We watched the fight between Bakhodir and Vitaly Kudukhov, and it turned out to be quite close, although it was dirty. Bach could not offer anything intelligible. Vitalik has always been a fighter who can take a punch. Even before the fight, they said that Kudukhov would create problems for Jalolov,” Kravtsov told Match TV.

Kuzmin won 19 victories and suffered three defeats in the professional ring. Known for his bare-knuckle performances, Khalidov has 11 victories in 11 fights according to boxing rules.
