Former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor has been suspended for 18 months for violating the promotion’s anti-doping policy, the UFC press service reports.

It is noted that McGregor missed three sample collection attempts over a 12-month period in 2024.

— UFC Athletes are required to provide accurate whereabouts information at all times so they can be contacted and sampled without prior notice. McGregor missed tests on June 13, September 19 and 20, 2024, all of which were classified as whereabouts violations, the statement said.

Due to McGregor, 37, fully cooperating with the independent Combat Sports Anti-Doping Authority’s (CSAD) investigation, admitting responsibility and providing details that CSAD believed contributed to the missed tests, the standard 24-month period of ineligibility was reduced by six months.

McGregor’s suspension began on September 20, 2024 and will end on March 20, 2026.

McGregor won the UFC featherweight championship in 2015 and the lightweight title in 2016. The Irishman had his last fight in 2021, when he lost early to American Dustin Poirier. In total, McGregor has 22 wins and six losses in his MMA career.
