Volkov on the fight against Almeida: “I understand the opponent’s style, he doesn’t hide”
The fight against Brazilian Gilton Almeida will be a good opportunity to demonstrate his wrestling skills, says Russian UFC fighter Alexander Volkov.
The fight between heavyweights Volkov and Almeida will take place on October 25 at the UFC 321 tournament in Abu Dhabi (UAE). In the UFC heavyweight division rankings, Volkov ranks 2nd, behind only current champion Tom Aspinall and his future opponent Cyril Gun. Aspinall will face Gun in the main event of UFC 321.

36-year-old Volkov won 38 victories and suffered 11 defeats in MMA. The 34-year-old Almeida has 22 wins and three losses.

Famous British organizer Frank Warren He commented on the situation around the world heavyweight champion according to WBC, WBA and IBF Alexandra Usika.
“We’ll see what happens with Oleksandr Usyk. He’s only fought once this year, which has had a negative impact on his high-level title fights. He needs to defend his belts next year. If he doesn’t do that, he’ll have to give up his titles,” Warren said.

Absolute world champion in the second lightweight category Naoya Inoue (32-0, 27 KOs) commented on the victory of the fight played on Saturday, December 27th.
In Saudi Arabia, the Japanese representative defeated Mexican Alan David Picasso by unanimous decision and defended his WBC, WBO, WBA and IBF titles.
After the final bell, the reporter asked Inoue whether he should take the first place in the ranking of the world’s strongest boxers, which is currently occupied by Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
“Mr. Usyk came to watch my fight tonight, but I’m actually not very happy with my performance. I should have done much better. So I won’t say anything about the rankings and I’ll do much better next time,” Inoue admitted.

The strongest boxers of our time – Ukrainian Alexander Usik and Japanese Naoya Inoue – We met in the ring of Mohammed Abdo Aren in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) on December 27th.
On this day, a boxing night took place, the main event of which was the fight in the weight category up to 55.3 kg. WBC, WBO, WBA, IBF world champion Inoue (30-0, 27 KOs) defeated his Mexican opponent Alan David Picasso (32-0-1, 17 KOs).
The fight continued for all 12 rounds and ended with a confident victory for the Japanese “Beast” by unanimous decision.
After the final gong, Usik approached the champion in the ring, congratulated him on his victory and shook hands. Inoue admitted that he was not 100% satisfied with his performance and appreciated the Ukrainian’s place in the ranking of the strongest boxers of our time.
Next year, Usik plans to fight against former American champion Deontay Wilder, and Naoya is considering two options: Junto Nakatani or Jesse Rodriguez.
