“The meeting with Pulev is a good fight for Gassiev to return to the top” – Murtazaliev
Russian Murat Gassiev has a very good chance of defeating Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev with the right attitude. IBF junior middleweight champion Bakhram Murtazaliev shared this opinion with Match TV.
On December 12, in the main fight of the IBA.PRO 13 tournament in Dubai, Gassiev will meet with the regular WBA heavyweight champion Pulev. Since 2020, Gassiev has been competing in the heavy weight category. In the professional ring, the 31-year-old Russian won 32 victories and suffered two defeats. Gassiev previously held the WBA and IBF cruiserweight titles. He fought his last fight at the end of August in the USA, defeating American Jeremy Milton. The 44-year-old Pulev has 32 wins and three losses. The Bulgarian defeated Manuel Charra at the end of 2024 and won the regular WBA belt.
— Murat and I have known each other for a long time. Also in Chelyabinsk, around 2012 or 2013. This is a very good boxer. His entire career stalled after injuries after the fight with Usyk. He underwent several surgeries and had relapses. And so he is a very good, strong, strong and fast-hitting athlete. If he approaches the fight with Pulev with a cool head, then he shouldn’t have any problems. Pulev is an experienced and dangerous boxer, but he is 44 years old. I think this is a good fight for Murat to return to the top, to become a champion. This will be a very serious result,” Murtazaliev told Match TV.

Absolute world champion in the second lightweight category Naoya Inoue (32-0, 27 KOs) commented on the victory of the fight played on Saturday, December 27th.
In Saudi Arabia, the Japanese representative defeated Mexican Alan David Picasso by unanimous decision and defended his WBC, WBO, WBA and IBF titles.
After the final bell, the reporter asked Inoue whether he should take the first place in the ranking of the world’s strongest boxers, which is currently occupied by Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
“Mr. Usyk came to watch my fight tonight, but I’m actually not very happy with my performance. I should have done much better. So I won’t say anything about the rankings and I’ll do much better next time,” Inoue admitted.
Usik visited Riyadh to watch the Japanese “Beast” fight and after the fight, he went to the ring to congratulate the champion on his victory.

The strongest boxers of our time – Ukrainian Alexander Usik and Japanese Naoya Inoue – We met in the ring of Mohammed Abdo Aren in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) on December 27th.
On this day, a boxing night took place, the main event of which was the fight in the weight category up to 55.3 kg. WBC, WBO, WBA, IBF world champion Inoue (30-0, 27 KOs) defeated his Mexican opponent Alan David Picasso (32-0-1, 17 KOs).
The fight continued for all 12 rounds and ended with a confident victory for the Japanese “Beast” by unanimous decision.
After the final gong, Usik approached the champion in the ring, congratulated him on his victory and shook hands. Inoue admitted that he was not 100% satisfied with his performance and appreciated the Ukrainian’s place in the ranking of the strongest boxers of our time.
Next year, Usik plans to fight against former American champion Deontay Wilder, and Naoya is considering two options: Junto Nakatani or Jesse Rodriguez.

Japanese Naoya Inoue defended his title of absolute world boxing champion in the second bantamweight division.
In a 12-round fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, he defeated Mexican David Picasso by unanimous decision: 119-109, 118-110 and 117-111.
Inoue defended his title of absolute world champion in the weight category up to 55.22 kg for the sixth time.
The 32-year-old Japanese now has 32 victories (27 by knockout) in 32 fights. 25-year-old Picasso suffered the first defeat in his career; he also has 32 wins (17 by knockout) and one draw.
In the co-main fight of the evening, former world champion in three weight categories, Japanese Junto Nakatani, won the second bantamweight bout over Mexican Sebastian Hernandez.
The fight lasted all 12 rounds and ended with Nakatani winning by unanimous decision: 115–113, 115–113, 118–110.
Now 27-year-old Nakatani has 32 victories (24 by knockout) and not a single defeat. The 25-year-old Hernandez has 20 wins (18 by knockout) and one loss.
