Russian Petlyakova won a gold medal at the World Youth Wrestling Championships in Serbia
Russian Elizaveta Petlyakova won a gold medal at the World Wrestling Championships among athletes under 23 years old in Serbia.
In the final of the weight category up to 65 kg, the Russian athlete defeated the representative of China Yukyi Rao.
In the up to 68 kg category, Russian Alina Shevchenko won silver, losing to Nesrin Bas from Turkey in the decisive bout. A day earlier, Valeria Trifonova (up to 76 kg) took a medal of similar value.
The wrestling tournament is hosted by Novi Sad, the competition will end on October 27. Russian athletes compete at the World Championships in a neutral status.
