Former UFC champion Dillashaw: “Nurmagomedov is more technical than Dvalishvili, but he lacks endurance”
Former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw told what Russian Umar Nurmagomedov must improve in order to take the championship belt from Merab Dvalishvili.
On Saturday in Abu Dhabi, in the main card of the UFC 321 tournament, Nurmagomedov defeated American Mario Bautista by unanimous decision, after which he rose to first place in the bantamweight division rankings. The champion title belongs to Dvalishvili, who in January inflicted the only defeat of his career on Nurmagomedov.
— Dvalishvili fights at a hurricane pace, but his main weapon is endurance. You need to prepare wisely against such a fighter, because Merab will never get tired in battle. “I think Umar has better technique and he’s also very fast, but he doesn’t have the stamina to keep up with Merab,” Dillashaw was quoted as saying by MMA Junkie.
Dvalishvili will make his fourth title defense in 2025 when he faces Russia’s Petr Yan in the main event of UFC 323 on December 6 at T‑Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Nurmagomedov’s team expects the Russian to get his next fight in January.
