Golovkin to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame

Former world boxing champion in several versions, Gennady Golovkin, will be included in the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF), the organization’s press service reports.

Also inducted into the Hall of Fame will be the American Antonio Tarver, the British Nigel Benn, the Japanese Naoko Fujioka, the Mexican Jackie Nava, Frank Cappuccino (in the referee category, posthumously) and others. The official ceremony will take place in Canastota, New York, June 11–14.

Golovkin, who retired in 2024, had 42 victories with two defeats and one fight ended in a draw during his professional boxing career. The boxer over the years held the WBC, IBF, WBA and IBO middleweight championship belts. He is the 2004 Olympic silver medalist and 2003 world amateur champion.
