ASA champion Silva: “I would be interested in a fight with Podlesny”
ACA bantamweight champion Brazilian Josiel Silva said that he would not mind making his next title defense against Russian Alexander Podlesny.
On Sunday in Minsk, in the main bout of the ACA 196 tournament, Silva knocked out former league champion Oleg Borisov in the second round, defending his bantamweight belt for the first time. Now Silva has 23 wins and 7 losses. Borisov has 28 wins, 8 losses and 1 draw. Podlesny is in second place in the ASA ranking.
“A lot of effort was spent to protect the belt. It would be interesting for me to fight with Alexander Podlesny. This is the second time he has been injured. But I don’t mind fighting with him.
— Do you know that the most Brazilians won in Russian leagues?
— I monitor my record and changes in Sherdog very carefully. So this is not news to me. I have another request, which I have already voiced to Magomed (Bibulatov, President of the ASA – Ed.). If the league holds a tournament in Brazil, I would like to compete on this card. Maybe even go down to 57 kg and fight in this division,” a Match TV correspondent reports Silva’s words.
