World champion Russian Sharabutdin Ataev reached the quarterfinals of the World Boxing Championship in Dubai (UAE).

In the 1/8 finals in the up to 86 kg weight category, he defeated Andrei Kiryakov from Moldova by unanimous decision (30–27, 30–27, 30–27, 30–26, 30–27).

Vyacheslav Rogozin (up to 54 kg) defeated the representative of Kyrgyzstan Sanjay Seidekmatov by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-26, 30-25, 30-25, 30-25).
