“Peter, you deserve it.” Makhachev congratulated Yan on winning the UFC title
UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev congratulated Petr Yan on defeating Merab Dvalishvili and winning the bantamweight title.
Yan defeated Dvalishvili in the main event at UFC 323 in Las Vegas. After five rounds, the judges unanimously gave victory to the Russian (49:46, 49:46, 48:47).
– Merab, you are one of the greatest fighters who has ever entered the cage. Congratulations. Petya, you deserve it,” Makhachev wrote on the social network.
Yan took revenge from Dvalishvili. Their first fight took place in March 2023, when the Georgian fighter won by unanimous decision.
