Russian judoka Madina Taymazova took second place in the up to 70 kg weight category at the Grand Slam tournament in Tokyo.

In the final, Taymazova lost to the current world champion, Japanese representative Shiho Tanaka.

Earlier on Sunday, Timur Arbuzov took third place in the up to 81 kg weight category, defeating Japanese Kaito Amano in the bout for the bronze medal.

The Grand Slam tournament takes place in Tokyo from December 6 to 7. Russian athletes won five medals: one gold, one silver and three bronze.

On November 27, the executive committee of the International Judo Federation (IJF) returned to Russian judokas the right to compete at international tournaments under the national flag, anthem and symbols.
