Russian boxer Kool won silver at the World Championships in Dubai
Russian boxer Evgeny Kool won silver at the World Championships in Dubai (UAE).
Kool in the final in the weight category up to 67 kg lost to the 2024 Olympic champion Asadhuzha Muydinkhuzhaev from Uzbekistan by unanimous decision of the judges.
Kool is 23 years old, he is a three-time Russian champion.
Earlier, Vsevolod Shumkov (60 kg), Ilya Popov (63.5) won gold at the World Championships in the UAE, Edmond Khudoyan (up to 48 kg), Bair Batlaev (51 kg), Vyacheslav Rogozin (54 kg) won silver, and Andrey Peglivanyan (up to 57 kg) won bronze. Six more Russians will compete in the final bouts.
Russian athletes perform at the tournament with national symbols – a flag and anthem.
The competition’s prize fund is $8.32 million.
