Russian boxer Koldenkov won silver at the World Championships in Dubai
Russian boxer Sergei Koldenkov won silver at the World Championships in Dubai (UAE).
Koldenkov lost to three-time World Championship bronze medalist Ablaykhan Zhusupov from Kazakhstan by split decision in the final in the up to 71 kg weight category.
Koldenkov is 21 years old and the 2025 Russian champion.
Earlier, Vsevolod Shumkov (60 kg), Ilya Popov (63.5) won gold at the World Championships in the UAE, Edmond Khudoyan (up to 48 kg), Bair Batlaev (51 kg), Vyacheslav Rogozin (54 kg), Evgeniy Kool (up to 67 kg) won silver, and Andrey Peglivanyan (up to 57 kg) won bronze. Five more Russians will compete in the final bouts.
Russian athletes perform at the tournament with national symbols – a flag and anthem.
The competition’s prize fund is $8.32 million.
