Russian boxer Bizhamov won gold at the World Championships in Dubai
Russian boxer Dzhambulat Bizhamov won gold at the World Championships in Dubai (UAE).
Bizhamov in the final in the weight category up to 80 kg defeated the 2025 world champion Zhavokhir Ummataliev from Uzbekistan by unanimous decision.
Bijamov is 24 years old, he is a silver medalist at the World Championships (2021) and European Championships (2024).
Earlier, Vsevolod Shumkov (60 kg), Ilya Popov (63.5), Ismail Mutsolgov (75 kg) won gold at the World Championships in the UAE, Edmond Khudoyan (up to 48 kg), Bair Batlaev (51 kg), Vyacheslav Rogozin (54 kg), Evgeniy Kool (up to 67 kg), Sergey Koldenkov (71 kg) won silver, and Andrey won bronze. Peglivanyan (up to 57 kg). Three more Russians will compete in the final bouts.
Russian athletes perform at the tournament with national symbols – a flag and anthem.
The competition’s prize fund is $8.32 million.
