Undefeated world boxing champion Crawford announces retirement
Former absolute world boxing champion Terence Crawford announced his retirement from his professional career.
Crawford is 38 years old. He became the absolute champion in three weight categories: welterweight, first middleweight and second middleweight. The American won 42 victories in 42 fights (31 knockouts) and leaves the ring undefeated.
– I have nothing more to prove. I am leaving the sport not because I stopped fighting, but because I won a different kind of battle. I was able to leave on my own terms! This is not goodbye, it is the end of one fight and the beginning of another. The time has come,” Crawford said on social media.
Earlier in December, Crawford was stripped of the WBC super middleweight belt due to non-payment of championship fees.
