UFC fighter Alexander Volkov said that he does not plan to develop his career in jiu-jitsu after his victory over Evgeny Goncharov.

On December 17, at the ACBJJ 20 tournament, Alexander Volkov defeated ex-ACA heavyweight champion Evgeniy Goncharov according to the rules of Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Volkov is 37 years old; during his MMA career he won 39 victories and suffered 11 defeats.

— I don’t plan to build a career in jiu-jitsu yet. I’m just not ready to name my opponents yet. I’m too anxious to challenge someone and then lose to him. There is no need for extra responsibility.

— Maybe with Vadim Nemkov?

– No, still competing with young people… He will strangle me. “I believe in his grappling more than in my own,” a Match TV correspondent reports Volkov’s words.

Volkov’s last fight took place at UFC 321, where the Russian defeated Brazilian Gilton Almeida by split decision.

The fighter’s manager Ivan Bannikov, after Volkov’s victory over Almeida, said in an interview with Match TV that the Russian fighter would fight next for the UFC heavyweight title.
