Rostec’s “shock ten” united 95 thousand people across the country

The ninth championship in boxing and striking power was held for the ninth time and became the largest in the history of the tournament

The grand final of the IX Boxing and Punching Championship “Shock Ten” took place in Moscow, organized by the Rostec State Corporation. The ninth season of the project became the most popular in the history of the tournament. 95 thousand people from dozens of Russian cities took part in it – from the Kaliningrad region to Primorye.

Over nine years, the corporate project brought together over 330 thousand people, becoming one of the most popular sporting events. Today, among the participants are not only Rostec enterprises, but also teams from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, Aeroflot, Uralkali, Transmashholding and other organizations.

The geography of the project continues to expand. This season, nine more cities joined the championship: Sevastopol, Simferopol, Krasnodar, Zhukov, Kovrov, Nizhny Novgorod, Barnaul, Solnechnogorsk and Zelenograd. In total, athletes from 47 cities from all over Russia, where Rostec enterprises operate, take part in the competition – from Kaliningrad to the Far East.

The championship has become so noticeable and significant that its directions “Strength Impact” and “Speed Impact” were included in the list of official disciplines registered by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.

“Boxing is more than a sport. This is a school of self-discipline, determination and quick decision making. The defense industry is an industry for strong-willed people, which is why such qualities are very important for our employees. Over the course of nine years, the Shock Ten has become one of the most popular events in the world of corporate sports. The ninth championship attracted about 95 thousand participants, and in just nine years more than 330 thousand people tried their hand at it. I’ll add that 2025 has been declared the year of the Defender of the Fatherland, so we dedicated all stages of the “Shock Ten” to the heroes of the country. And, of course, we invited our defenders, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and special military operations to the grand final of the championship,” said Sergei Chemezov, General Director of the Rostec State Corporation.

Famous actors, musicians and athletes, including world-class boxers, came to support the championship participants. Among them are Olympic champion and world heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin, the first Russian boxer to become world heavyweight champion, Nikolai Valuev, world heavyweight boxing champion Denis Lebedev, world boxing champions Dmitry Pirog, Natalya Ragozina, Svetlana Kulakova, mixed martial arts fighter Jeff Monson, as well as five-time world champion in artistic gymnastics Alexey Nemov, Russian politician, cosmonaut, Hero of Russia Elena Serova, theater and film actor Gosha Kutsenko, musician Vasily Vakulenko (Basta).

The final fights of the ninth championship were attended by 24 teams based on striking power and 17 pairs of boxers in the men’s and women’s groups. Traditionally, couples were divided into two categories – amateurs and professionals (athletes with a high level of training). There were also exhibition fights, including a super fight of professional heavyweights.

The punching competitions were divided into five weight categories. Winners and runners-up among men and women were determined in each weight category. The finalists traditionally received cash prizes. For first place – 100,000 rubles, second place – 50,000 rubles and third place – 25,000 rubles. The status of “The Most Impactful Rostec Holding” was again confirmed by Technodinamika – a special prize goes to the company every year. As a gift, the winner received boxing gloves signed by the absolute world light heavyweight boxing champion Dmitry Bivol.

“We will pass this award on to our engineers and workers – people with golden hands and bright minds who make our holding stronger. The project, like a train, is gaining momentum: every year new cars are attached to it – the involvement and number of teams is growing. Over nine years, the number of participants in our holding alone has increased 25 times. This is no longer just a competition, but a huge holiday that our team looks forward to year after year. No one needs to be forced or reminded. And what is especially important is that many of our enterprises have boxing schools that live and develop,” said Igor Nasenkov, General Director of Technodinamika, during the award ceremony.

Another special award – “Strike Enterprise” – went to the debutant of the tournament. Kurganmashzavod, part of the High-Precision Complexes holding, attracted more than 8 thousand employees to participate in the project.

“We participated in the Shock Ten championship for the first time. The team’s impressions are excellent. Not everyone, due to various work circumstances, was able to join the tournament. I am sure that next year the number of participants will be greater, as will the number of prizes,” said Igor Giske, General Director of Kurganmashzavod.

The first “Shock Ten” championship was held in 2017, it was timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the Rostec State Corporation and united athletes from 16 cities. The experience was so successful that the competition became an annual event. Since then, the geography and number of participants in the championship have been expanding every year.

The permanent partner of the Shock Ten is the Boxing Academy. The information partner is the MATCH TV channel.

Wilder made a bold statement ahead of his title fight with Usyk

Former world heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg), American Deontay Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) shared his expectations for the upcoming fight against WBC, WBA and IBF titleholder Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs).

“You know my next opponent. Usyk challenged me to a fight. He said he wanted to meet me in the ring. I accepted the challenge. “I push horses” and “I feel it, I feel it hard.”

What’s my plan? Be smart, be faster, use my agility, be tough, get in the ring and knock him out. I am known for my strength, I need to show it. “I’ve been through a tough journey in my life, but I’m back and ready to beat Usyk,” Wilder said.

The American had 49 fights in the professional ring and won 44 victories (43 of them ahead of schedule). In June, Wilder knocked out his compatriot Tyrell Herndon, ending his two defeats in 2023 and 2024.

Usyk last appeared in the ring in July, when he stopped Briton Daniel Dubois. The Ukrainian became the absolute world champion but lost a title by refusing to defend his WBO belt in October.
