Beterbiev thanked Ramzan Kadyrov after receiving the national sports award
Former absolute light heavyweight world boxing champion Artur Beterbiev thanked the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov for supporting the sport after receiving the Ondalla 2025 national sports award.
40-year-old Beterbiev received an award in the “People’s Favorite” category.
— I am sincerely grateful for winning the “People’s Favorite” nomination. I express special words of deep gratitude to my dear BROTHER, Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Akhmatovich Kadyrov. “He not only stands at the head of the region, but also confidently leads the entire people, and I believe that without his support there would not have been a single victory for Chechen athletes,” Beterbiev wrote in his Telegram channel.
Beterbiev has 21 victories and one defeat in the professional ring. He is a former IBF, WBC, WBO, WBA and The Ring light heavyweight world champion.
