Usik confirms he will fight against a dangerous opponent with 43 knockouts
World champion by WBC, WBA and IBF super heavyweight (over 90.7 kg) Alexander Usik (24-0, 15 KOs) once again confirmed the name of his future opponent.
The Ukrainian athlete arrived in Riyadh on Saturday, December 27, to watch the fight of one of the strongest boxers of our time. Japan’s absolute world champion Naoya Inoue defeated his Mexican rival Alan David Picasso by points.
Usik managed to talk to journalists and answer many questions during the demonstration in Saudi Arabia. The Ukrainian representative said that his plans have not changed and that he will return to the ring next year to fight against American knockout artist Deontay Wilder.
The American boxer is a former world champion in the royal division and had 49 fights in the professional ring and won 44 victories (43 of them ahead of schedule).
In July, Usik became the absolute world champion, defeating Briton Daniel Dubois in the fifth round, but in October he lost a title, refusing to defend his WBO belt.
