Japanese monster. Naoya Inoue retained his title as absolute world champion
On Saturday, December 27, Ring V boxing night was held at Mohammed Abdo Aren in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), the main event of which was the fight for the title of absolute world champion.
Representatives of the second bantamweight (up to 55.3 kg) met in the ring – holder of the WBC, WBO, WBA, IBF titles Naoya Inoue (30-0, 27 KOs) from Japan and Mexican opponent Alan David Picasso (32–0–1, 17 knockouts).
Inoue spent the first round exploring and didn’t force things by taking a closer look at his opponent. However, in the second 3-minute period, the Japanese “Beast” increased its speed and began to disintegrate its opponent from both close and long range by delivering numerous blows.
Picasso tried to fight back with counterattacks, but Inoue moved perfectly on his feet and was easily out of the line of fire, even when locked in near the ropes. Both combinations and single emphatic blows continued to fly into the opponent’s head.
The champion did not experience any significant problems as he had the advantage of speed and maneuverability. The Japanese calmly defeated their opponent, who was more defensive-minded. Picasso tried to turn the tide at the end of the fight, but all attempts to seriously disturb his opponent failed.
According to the results of 12 rounds, the jury recorded a confident victory for the Japanese “Beast”, which defended the title of absolute world champion.

Famous British organizer Frank Warren He commented on the situation around the world heavyweight champion according to WBC, WBA and IBF Alexandra Usika.
“We’ll see what happens with Oleksandr Usyk. He’s only fought once this year, which has had a negative impact on his high-level title fights. He needs to defend his belts next year. If he doesn’t do that, he’ll have to give up his titles,” Warren said.
Previously, Alexander Usik (24-0, 15 KOs), the holder of the WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles (over 90.7 kg), talked about his plans and admitted when he plans to end his professional career. The boxer recently vacated his WBO title and lost his status as absolute world champion.

Absolute world champion in the second lightweight category Naoya Inoue (32-0, 27 KOs) commented on the victory of the fight played on Saturday, December 27th.
In Saudi Arabia, the Japanese representative defeated Mexican Alan David Picasso by unanimous decision and defended his WBC, WBO, WBA and IBF titles.
After the final bell, the reporter asked Inoue whether he should take the first place in the ranking of the world’s strongest boxers, which is currently occupied by Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
“Mr. Usyk came to watch my fight tonight, but I’m actually not very happy with my performance. I should have done much better. So I won’t say anything about the rankings and I’ll do much better next time,” Inoue admitted.
Usik visited Riyadh to watch the Japanese “Beast” fight and after the fight, he went to the ring to congratulate the champion on his victory.

The strongest boxers of our time – Ukrainian Alexander Usik and Japanese Naoya Inoue – We met in the ring of Mohammed Abdo Aren in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) on December 27th.

The fight continued for all 12 rounds and ended with a confident victory for the Japanese “Beast” by unanimous decision.
After the final gong, Usik approached the champion in the ring, congratulated him on his victory and shook hands. Inoue admitted that he was not 100% satisfied with his performance and appreciated the Ukrainian’s place in the ranking of the strongest boxers of our time.
Next year, Usik plans to fight against former American champion Deontay Wilder, and Naoya is considering two options: Junto Nakatani or Jesse Rodriguez.
