Scandal in Australia. The fight between Nikita Tszyu and Zerafa was declared invalid
On Friday, January 16, representatives of Australia met in the fight for the WBO International middleweight title (up to 72.6 kg) – Nikita Tszyu (11-0, 9 KOs) and Michael Zerafa (34–5, 22 knockouts).
In the first round, Zerafa successfully countered and defeated his opponent, who acted very carelessly and often forgot to defend, missing unnecessary blows.
Tszyu gradually took aim, seized the initiative and began to beat his compatriot both at long and close range. In one of the episodes, the boxers got into a fight.
Zerafa admitted that he was unable to continue the fight due to the interruption, which angered both his opponent and the fans who booed Michael. Nikita’s brother Tim Tszyu also did not stand aside and tried to sort out his relationship with Michael for a long time.
Considering that the collision was unintentional, the fight was declared invalid.

Victor VYKHRYST: “I had to urgently examine my opponent from video recordings”
January 17 Ukrainian heavyweight Victor Vykhrist He will fight his 18th fight in the professional ring with Macedonian Todorce Tsvetkov in Germany. This will be a title fight for the vacant WBO Intercontinental belt.
Viktor Vykhrist spoke exclusively to Sport.ua about the latest news from the training camp:
“My promoters announced this fight only a few days ago. So there was no time to recover. It helped me to be in the necessary tone, because I had been preparing for more than a month for the ratings fight, which was supposed to take place in Oberhausen on January 10, but it fell through.
I had to quickly watch the video recordings of the last fights in which Tsvetkov participated, who tried to act quickly and threw a lot of punches. It is important to choose the right tactic to prevent your opponent from using his trump cards and forcing him into a mistake.
The fight will take place in Flensburg, not far from Hamburg, where I hold my training camp. Ten tours are planned. I am ready and there is no problem with motivation,” Vykhrist said.
